National Harbor

Fun for Everyone at the National Harbor

Looking on to the city from across the Potomac is the D.C. metro area’s latest attraction. The National Harbor, a project started roughly eight years ago, has transformed an empty plot into a unique hub of entertainment with a little bit of something for everyone. The outdoorsy layout makes it the perfect summertime destination, consider it a mini vacation and get ready to take it all in.

Tanger Outlets

Who doesn’t love to shop, especially when it’s a bargain? Tanger Outlets features all of your favorite brands like Gap, Banana Republic, H+M and Calvin Klein.

Movies on the Potomac

Movies on the Potomac are perfect for the entire family, every Sunday from May 25th through September 28th movies are screened on the main plaza of the National Harbor. Upcoming movies include:

6/22 – The Parent Trap

6/29 – The Princess Diaries

7/6 – Freaky Friday

Capital Wheel

Capital Wheel, the latest edition to the harbor, is a 180 foot Ferris wheel reminiscent of those found in Paris and London. Enjoy unparalleled views of the city and surrounding areas from one of the 42 climate controlled gondolas.  Rides are $15.00.

Festivals

The National Harbor is the ideal location for larger scaled events and festivals.  Last year the harbor played host to the renowned Cavalia’s Odysseo. This year National Harbor welcomes Cirque de Soliel from July 31 – September 21, Cruisin on the River Car Show August 9th and Chesapeake Crab and Beer Festival August 16th  just to name a few.

Water Works

A city on the water wouldn’t be complete without some fun aquatic activities and the National Harbor is no exception.  Every week from Tuesday to Friday visitors can participate in free waterfront aerobics classes.  Paddle boats, kayaks, and canoes are all available for rent by the hour at Boating DC.  There is also a docking area for those who own!

It’s easy to see why the National Harbor is rapidly becoming one of the DC area’s most celebrated attractions. With so much to do and see you’ll always have a reason to come back for more, and at The Esplanade at National Harbor it’s just right outside your doors.
