Gerard Huet spent decades years working as the pastry chef at hotels all over the world before opening Desserts by Gerard in Oxon Hill. The Grand Hotel in France, The Beverly Pavilion Hotel in Beverly Hills, and the Watergate Hotel in Washington, DC are just a few of the establishments where he honed his craft.
Now as the head baker at Desserts by Gerard, he brings the skills he's learned over the past 30 years directly to customers. They rave about his traditional baked goods, especially the strawberry shortcake. You can grab a slice to enjoy with coffee or take home an entire cake for a special occasion. Tarts, pies, and artisan cheesecakes are also on display. Gerard and his team also dish out savory fare for breakfast and lunch, including sandwiches and salads.
