The Capital Wheel at National Harbor is a unique observation wheel that soars 180 feet over the harbor and Potomac River, lights up at night, and provides amazing views of most of Washington’s signature attractions. Some of the sites visible from the wheel include the iconic Washington Monument, the striking Capitol Building, lovely downtown Alexandria, and various locations in Prince George’s Country.
There are 42 climate-controlled gondolas on the Capital Wheel that each seat about eight people, and the slowly rotating wheel gives you an exciting 15-minute ride. The Capital Wheel also features a ground-level lounge, The Flight Deck, which serves wine, beer, cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks, and light bites.
Tickets for the Capital Wheel cost $15 for adults and $11.25 for children. Discount pricing is available for seniors and military with valid ID for $13.50. The wheel also offers a VIP Gondola ($50 per ticket), which features leather bucket seats, a glass floor, and an included photo package.
