Every Sunday at 6 p.m., families will love watching movies right on the Plaza. Enjoy top picks like The Princess Diaries and Freaky Friday alfresco with the gorgeous Potomac River as a perfect backdrop. It’s important to note that the films are always appropriate for all ages, so no need to worry about leaving your really little ones at home.
Music lovers will want to block out time on their calendars every Friday for Friday Night Live! This complimentary music series is the perfect way to have fun, dance and enjoy the National Harbor’s scenery too.
Fitness enthusiasts will want to head to the area on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday for free fitness events. Usually held from 7 to 8 p.m., these complimentary classes taught by an instructor from local gym WillPower Functional Fitness will get your heart pumping as you work out with beautiful views.
Families will want to head to the Harbor on July 25 for National Carousel Day. Kids can take a spin on the carousel while they’ll enjoy other activities and events that are just for them. They’ll also want to consider visiting the area on June 25, July 30 and August 27. On June 25, kids will enjoy seeing reptiles of all stripes at the Reptiles Alive! event. Children will love listening to tunes courtesy of kid-friendly musician Peter McCory—the One Man Band as he entertains them with his catchy hits. On August 27, youngsters can enjoy entertainment courtesy of Blue Sky Puppets.
Vintage car admirers will want to head to National Harbor on August 9. See classic cars and trucks on the boardwalk here. Be sure to bring your camera as these collectible will make great photo opportunities.
Crabs and beer is the perfect summertime food and drink combo and the ideal place to celebrate this winning pair is on August 16 at the Chesapeake Crab & Beer Festival. Dig into some crabs and drink more than 50 beers and wines to complement your crabs at the National Harbor. If you don’t like crabs, you can enjoy hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages, pit beef and barbecue too.
