Farmer’s Market

Pick Up Your Produce at the Old Town Farmer’s Market

The Old Town Farmers Market, held at the Market Square Plaza, is the oldest farmers market in the country that has been held continuously at the same site. Fun fact: George Washington sent his produce from Mount Vernon to be sold at the Farmer’s Market!

Today, the Old Town Farmers Market features more than 70 vendors offering fruits and vegetables, meat, poultry, cheeses, breads, pastries, fresh pasta, pickled vegetables, cut flowers, potted plants, soaps, jewelry, and art. Start your morning off at Maribeth’s Bakery for breakfast pastries, pies, all natural breads, and decorated iced cookies. Another favorite is Shamali, which specializes in fresh, made-to-order hummus.

The market offers locals a way to reconnect to the past, while participating in an ongoing local and national tradition. Old Town Farmer’s Market is open Saturday mornings, year-round, from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Free parking is available in the Market Square Garage during market hours.
